I'm rebuilding a standalone DAC (15 years old) and was curious about the best way to replace caps especially in power supply. Since it's a digital to analog converter would a computer grade make more sense or would an audio grade be better. Also can someone explain the difference between the two. I assume the power supply would be a critical place to put good caps since since ripple trickles down to the rest of circuit. Also would adding a round magnet wrapped around the power wire improve sound? any more tips for better sound on his project would be appreciated.
