Finally, an affordable CD Transport: the Shigaclone story

The Flatfish is using a toggle switch called TOC/Stop that is the "Door Closed" switch. Flip it to read the CD TOC (Table of Content) then flip the play switch:

There are four tiny toggle switches: for power, selecting tracks, pause and play, and one marked Stop/TOC. You have to flick the Stop/TOC switch or the Flatfish won’t read the entire CD if the previous CD you played had fewer tracks. For instance, if the previous CD had ten tracks, that is all the Flatfish will recognize on a subsequent disc until you click the switch to identify the contents of the new disc. However, if you Stop/TOC a disc with, say, 20 tracks, you should be covered for most CDs that follow

Sold one EZ31 to JimS, just one left to sell.

The switches I have in my partsbox stay open or they stay closed, and can not be used as a substitute for pushbuttons. But I like the look of the flatfish switches, how do I specify this functionality ?
What I want is a " off - (on) " configuration , correct ?

The closest I get is (on)-off-(on) (on rsonline), but there is a difference between DPDT and DPST contact configuration , anyone care to clarify on this?

I guess that properly wired I can get a (on )-off -(on) to select tracks back and forth , and maybe play / pause ... ha.. am I answering my own question ?

normally open switch

normally closed switch

From MPJA @ $0.29 ea.

Whadaya think?

...100?...200?...

I'm using essentially this very switch, and it works fine.. I tried some of the other larger types and while they look nice, the feel is not so good.

Hi Puffin, I'm hopeless at telling what is better, I have not got Peter's expert ears.
I will just say I could happily live with any of them and perhaps any rigid mounting (added mass), brings out the best of the transport. The granite would be my choice, which I will be using with a RC51, this will be my last transport:rolleyes: ..

Did you consider adding Daruma roller blocks underneath.
Hi JC, I am very DIY and avoid using anything expensive;) ..

would anyone be willing to take some pics or give some advice on removing the LCD display and rewiring up new buttons? This seems pretty complicated to me and I'm trying to decide on whether I should leave things as is and integrate it into the case, or chop it up as others have done.

The display schematic attached.
