Raspberry Pi to Behringer DEQ2496 thru I2S?

The Pi is small enough to fit inside the DEQ and bypass USB/spdif conversion if direct signal connection is possible. There should be a jump in SQ.

Will the DEQ allow this if I'm prepared to forego all other external spdif connections and if so, how to go about it and any clock issue? Adding a separate Pi power supply is assumed. Thanks!
