DAC AD1862: Almost THT, I2S input, NOS, R-2R

Hello friends, anyone can tell me the max sample rate ad1862 plays or admits??
i am asking because i try to play upsampled files to 768khz and play at low volume, but i ear crackles and distortion when i turn volume higher.
It is strange because i try the same jdlsoundsi2soverusb board with pcm1702 and 1704 and both play 768khz perfect with no cracks or distortion.

Anyone know this components reseller?

Electronic Components Distributor | JLCPCB & EasyEDA Parts Online store - LCSC.COM

The prices are really good..

I've used both JLCPCB and LCSC for several years. Service and prices have been very good. LCSC's parts inventory is not huge so I still often also use Mouser and Digikey.

Parts selection on LCSC's website can be slow. Many manufacturers are unknown to me and datasheets are often only in Chinese. The cost savings are usually worth the extra effort.

>Seems a big reseller, so I think that all the components are original. What do you think about it?

Not sure what you are asking. Nothing I have received from LCSC has been obviously fake or defective. They appear to be a large industrial supplier much like Mouser and Digikey.

AD1862 arrived

AD1862 came, will send out to GBers. May you give me your postal address by PM and I will send out ASAP

Another DIYer here going for this Dac.
I am done populating my AD1862 PCB.
I have both Opa134 and Muse03 op amps in my toolbox so I will compare them.

One question:
I have a pair of Vintage 600:600 transformers; they are as big as WE111C. HUGE!
I wonder if they will work as passive I/V?
Need any resistors across the wiring?

For now I need to arrange all the parts in a case and drill holes....not easy! :)

nice work nano35 :)
output impedance is 600R? if so, try add a 1k resistor parallel on the output, ... it is not very good transformer for the I/V ...
better look for transformer ratio 1:10 or 1:20 with low input impedance and higher output impedance (like input impedance 10R and output impedance 400R)

Hi all, i have been listenning to ad1862 all week and this chip sound very good.
Now i put 1k5 Vishay TX2575 on iv. I have that at home.
I m going to populate another board with elna simics and film bypass. Also need to test cog cap as well and other opamps.
Regarding c15/16/25/26. Should i use tantalum ? 20200807_222039.jpg

Hi Pistollero,

I have two working boards, one with Panasonic FR the other has AVX tantalums in C15/16/25/26 locations. Honestly, I’d be lying if I said one was better or worse than the other. The Dac sounds excellent either way! I’m curious about your TX2575 resistors. I used them in an AD1865 Dac and liked them. Texas Components make a surface mount version I’m thinking of installing on my I/V boards.

TX2575 resistors sound good but as you with the caps i did not feel a big change from what i had before.
Need to try a better ps on the +-12v side.
Vunce, what 100nf caps are you using? And 47pf cap what type?
With the lt1028 the bass is round and fat.. maybe are the polymer caps...i would like to have stronger precise bass... the mids and highs are very good.

This was something I trying to improve about my AD1862 dac for a while now, unfortunately though it seems to be a trait of the AD1862 that cant really be improved much.
experimenting with the NR caps may your best bet
