Question how to add a SPDIF output off a TDA1541a?

I dug out my first CD player I purchased late 1980's or early 1990's. It is a Phillips made - branded Magnavox player. It only had analog out. Can someone show me a circuit to add a SPDIF out with this limited info? Thanks

Have a look at the internals. Does it have a digital filter of typ SAA7220P/B? Then it is possible to copy the circuitry of another CD-player that has SPDIF output (just checked the Marantz CD-94 SM).

Pin 14 of the SAA7220 is the digital audio output. Below is the output used on a Marantz CD65 TDA1541 cd player.

Thanks. I tried to find a schematic for my player with no luck. I will pop the top and look for a SAA7220. The higher price model of the same vintage had the SPDIF out.

Yes, my unit has a SAA7220P/B chip. I will build that circuit posted off pin 14. Thanks for the info one and all.
