Amen to that. A little EQ is a better idea than hacking it.

es9018k2m are so super cheap now that it might make sense to get a US$8 6.5cm x 6.5cm one to experiment with if that's your thing?
ES9018K2M I2S IIS DSD??????DAC???? ?? DOP ???-???

Thanks for the proposals, but they are off topic, as I want to get the best out of the es9018k2m/Sabre9061 combo.

Checked the voltages the ES9018k2m and Sabre9061k run on 3.3V.
Three voltage regulators, I assume for ES9018k2m / clock (shouldn´t this need 1.8?) / Sabre9061k (which has 3 Voltage inputs)
Becaise of the tiny space, it is not easy to measure the traces...

Ok, you have all convinced me !

Just ordered the SMP BC ES9038 Q2M board, v.1.06.

Markw4, you made a first roundup of the
mods

ES9038Q2M Board

But is there a final roundup of all mods needed?

All the best,
Salar

Hi Salar,
Probably better if you come over there and we can talk about it there so that anyone else interested can read along. You picked a pretty good time to drop in as there is bunch of activity going on right now where people are starting to implement some of the latest mod versions. Unfortunately, I don't have a perfect summary for you, but I can point you to the latest we have and fill in some other odds and ends. And by all means, please feel free to ask any questions you want.

Best Regards,
Mark
