Unlike most eval boards which give access to half the data lines or have an inconvenient implementation (wrong format, too many/few channels, onboard codec) this one is a bare minimum with every data line on the pin header.

Now the bad news... Unfortunately its available only on taobao.

SIGMADSP ADAU1452???-???

I used superbuy as the in-between, total shipped was ~$27 and included inspection pictures taken with rusty potato. (attached)

In my setup it'll be combined with a few adc/dac modules, wm8804 (wondom module), csra64215 and a wondom 1701 module.

MediaWorks also makes a codec board I am interested in, but its designed for SHARC boards and costs more than I can justify with my current surplus of such components:
MW-AUDIO-EXT ?????-???

Nice little board for the DIYer as it removes the need to solder that PITA ADAU1452 package at a good price! Ideally needs a decent "motherboard" designing to get the most out of it? A decent 2/4 channel ADC and an 8 channel DAC and it would make for a nice crossover for a pair of speakers.

I like going all out playing with my own designs, but the price you can get fully assembled PCBs from the far east/China is quite amazing really.
