I haven't listened to the 4497 dac for a longer period of time because of the optical output which I have only on my TV. As I said before, both xmos and amanero card don't work on that dac and that makes it complicated. When I get the time to resolve the issue and make the xmos work, I'll be glad to compare them and answer your question.

It might be obvious to many of you, but unfortunately not to me.
Is the 4497EQ a voltage out or a current out DAC?
It is not directly listed in the datasheet, and I have not been able to find it anywhere else, also not on the AKM website.
The reason it is important to me, is that I have ordered a set of output transformers for my DIYinHK kit, and I were sure it was a voltage out, but now I am in doubt.
I would be very grateful to get the answer from you.
