Filter brewing for the Soekris R2R

Kip Hanrahan

This is just the last filter with a bunch of quick n dirty Nyquist filters added at the higher sample rates.

I haven't really made any effort to optimise or tweak beyond widening the transition band. With a bit of time and thought I can make up a better batch but for the moment I'll upload the "Just For Jaffar" higher rate filters.

Done a quick test with my limited selection of hi-res:
Kip Hanrahan - Coup de Tete (88.2/24)
Kraftwerk - Minimum Maximum (88.2/24)
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (192/24)

Sounds fine...
KIP HANRAHAN high res: would it be possible for you to send me Coup de tete (and maybe Desire develops an edge by Kip) via dropbox, wetransfer or any other link, if I pay you? - I live in Austria and wanted to buy the album at hdtracks.com, but due to country restrictions (stupid!!! to release an album and to limit the availability) I couldn't do so...
my mail address is youareveryundude@gmail.com

Hello,

is there something different when downloading filters to dam1121?

I have a filter batch thats working on my dam1021,
I downloaded it to the dam1121, when I list all filters feedback says all my filters are there, and I don't get a complaint when changing filters, but when I ask for current filter, there is only:

debian@beaglebone:~$ sudo python /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dam1021.py -a

I am using Beaglebone black (python library for dam1021) via an isolator to two dam1121s only one TXD (of dam1121) is connected.

I'm stuck here, please help!

Don't think the 1021 filter pack is compatible with the 1121. And, to the best of my knowledge, there's no available file with current 1121 filters.

What persuaded you to use a file clearly labelled 1021 with the 1121??

Your best bet would be to contact Søren and ask a question.....(and hope the weather in Denmark has changed for the worst!!!)

Here's an abstract from 1121 manual:

"All filters are using 32 bit coefficients, with up to 67 bit MAC accumulator. The filter file format is the same as used in the dam1021, the files are available at http://www.soekris.dk"

dam1021 and dam1121 use the exact same filter file. I have no idea what janho12345 is doing and the filter file is not even the soekris one....

Both the mkrom utility and the boards firmware only do some basic checks, if you're not careful you can easily screw something up....

So it is possible to upload the 1021 full to an 1121? Or just the filter file?
