It's safe to assume that the Amanero has plated-through holes (I assume that is what you meant be tin-plated). If you do not have a lot of experience with removing such parts definitely go with the removal of the ferrite and capacitor.

Thanks for the advice! I'll report back next week once I get the parts

Just realized that I promised to reply back. 5V mod worked well. More details in the main dam1021 thread

Looking for some clarification on I2S input connections for Soekris 1021. Planning to use it with XMOS 384kHz DXD DSD256 high-quality USB to I2S/DSD/SPDIF PCB - DIYINHK

Using separate PSU with 5VDC for USB to I2S interface. Is it OK to just connect directly from DIYINHK board 3.3V connections to DAC ISO 3.3V J3?

Follow the User guide:1. External regulated 3.3V power supply is connected to the 20pin header pins label 3.3vINx2
So no 5V PSU, try 3.3V and also use the 3.3V for DAC ISO 3.3V J3

Regards
Torsten

Thanks Torsten ! I guess my question was if I can re-use same 3.3V PSU for both XMOS module and DAC?

Default dam1021 i mono mode?

Greetings,

Can this DAC be operated in mono mode? I recently purchased a used dam1021 and it seems to be operating in mono mode. I would like to operate it in stereo mode but can't find how to do so. I have looked through this thread and a couple others.

Thank you.

Have you been able to reach the command interface? There you do the setting. Of course it can do stereo.

Thank you, I was beginning to suspect that was the place I needed to make the change. I have to setup a terminal emulator but I think I can do that.

Is the command "set mode=stereo"?
