.. so yea a classical orchestra playing pp might be 50 or 60dB below full scale...

Since my last post one of our producers asked for help with a blown woofer taken out by a popular artist singing in the room next to my office. He swung over 40 dB weighted on a couple impromptu solo bars of 'Silent Night' during an interview.

Even with ~20 bits you have ~110++ dB dynamic range....

I agree and am not suggesting 32 bits is any sort of requirement, just that ambient room noise is only one factor among many to be considered.

Well, please show us the used interface for transmit & receive at 384Khz & 768Khz (coax, optical-fiber or glass) and also the used distance... while currently coax & optical-fiber after 25MHz is may the limit. :Olympic:

Hp

optical : 384k/24 50M bit-rate. distance: i think more than 100m .
(jsr2124, jst2124 : solteamopto)

coaxial : 768k/32 125M bit-rate. distance : we only try 50m, but i think, may
more than 100m .
(RAC connector, 5c2v coaxial cable, 75ohm)
