Get I2S or EIAJ from a Sony CDR

Is it possible to get a I2S or EIAJ from this cd-r?

SONY crx230ee-- and the internal pic.

If it has an analogue output look for the dac, possibly an 8 pin device like a TDA1311 or TDA1387. You'll find what you want there.

Well, i looked but audio analog out comes from the big square chip:
MT1585E

AFAIK the I2S standard is not found on CD drives, any audio out analogue or digital (SPDIF) is handled by a general-purpose IC, in this picture the big M chip. Saves costs.

thanks... I found the link between audio out-analog and 2 pins from the big chip.
So I guess it's no chance then!

Older CDRs do have a separate DAC and you can tap the "audio interface lines". They are the same as I2S, but could be left justified, or right justified or 16 bits. I have pulled these lines from two different CDRs into an ASRC (so I didn't need the clock). But if you want straight connection to a DAC, you will have to find the clock (MCK) line. Then you will have to program/set the DAC accordingly. So look around for old PCs and pull the CDRs. The older the better.

hi glt what kind of measurements you have done with i2c. I'm just wondering since we are talking digital interface. If aint bit perfect then you fail.
