You can't just make a cable or passive adapter. Audio is sent on the same physical data lines that are used to send video.
DVI has to be decoded down to RGB/YUV and re-encoded as HDMI with the audio stream inserted. Plus, I'm not sure how audio clocking works over HDMI but you may need to do ASRC also.
