Holding Components in Place when Soldering

Hello All,

I would like to share some of my methods securing components when soldering, below a great way to secure and protect transistors from heat. I use Goot Heat clips H-2SL (see link below) they are designed to draw heat away from parts but they are also quite handy to holding things in place.

Hope this is useful and help somebody out, below link were I purchased them about $6 for a pair (one straight and one angled) I have (2) sets, never had use for many more. the other clip you see in the picture is standard small clip I found at the home depot, I like them as the rubber will not mark the PCB.

Tips and Notes:
- Plan a bit ahead as you need some room the fit the clamps
- The camp is designed to draw heat away from the component
- Use them when soldering Wires to Connectors or PCB, put them right between the metal of the wire before the Insulation. It will prevent the insulation from shrinking or melting.
- Project in th attached picture B1 Nutube for DIY Audio Store. (great project)
