Mounting SMD to perfboard?

So, just got an SMD part in the mail needed for a DAC project. It is small! I didn't bother to look at package details since I just blindly ordered the part listed in the DAC datasheet.

I think the first thing to attempt is to mount it to perfboard before my old fat fingers send it scooting off into oblivion. How can I do that best? Hot glue? Epoxy? Silicone? Need to put down a small amount so it does not squeeze out and insulate the pins.

There is a special glue for smd components sold in syringes. I never needed as I have no issues soldering (iron mostly) anything from 0603 and up to the pcb. MELFs are some pain to solder in large numbers but still no glue. To hold parts while soldering I use wooden tooth pick

Unless you are reflow soldering the glue shouldn't need any special properties.

Why not use a SMD to DIP PCB adapter.
They are everywhere, or just make one?

If you do use superglue you need to be aware that when you solder it it will give off copious
cyanide fumes - use an extractor fan/filter for this. Hot fumes rising from a soldering iron
otherwise go into your eyes, and while rosin is bad enough, cyanide is nasty.
