Why does a balanced signal not require a ground reference?
An ideal balanced audio receiver is a differential amplifier. It works by measuring the difference between its two inputs, and calling that difference the signal. "Ground" is totally irrelevant.
A ground connection is not necessary for a balanced signal though a screen can reduce interference from external signals as well as radiated interference to other signals. If a screen is present it is often connected at one end only to eliminate ground loops.

Balanced output diagrams for Sabaj da3
Would like to DIY a 2.5mm jack TRRS to double XLR cable for my Sabaj Da3 on the balanced output.
No information in the package of the DAC, nor on the website.
Not quite sure about the output diagram pinout.
Are all the chi-fi the same? Fiio, Sabaj...?
Is someone here, who knows the diagram of the balanced output???
from Tip to r1,r2,S:
R-R+L+L-
or
L+R+L-R-
Thank you.
