Acoustic treatment help for plaster walls?

Starting set up main system in a non-dedicated room. We want the music where we live, even though this means non-optimal setting acoustically. Reading the manual by Everest, but wanted to see if anyone here would be willing to brainstorm on how to treat a 14'W x 20'L x 9'H room with suspended wood floors, plaster walls/ceiling and a large archway halfway. Very lively :whacko: with a bass suckout.
Any ideas/questions would be great. My name is Gabe, but my friends call me...Gabe.
