Occasionally we see a thread or question about converting the 50ASX2 SE to the BTL version. I have three os then and have converted one by changing the link position from 401 to 400. However as far as I can see this only redirects the output of amplifier 2 to the negative terminal of amplifier 1.
I have read that there is a resistor change too somewhere that synchronises the oscilators of the two amplifiers but I did not persue this on my amplifier.
So my question is three fold.

- Is there any real reason to use the BTL version rather than just bridging the inputs on the SE version in the conventional way?
- Has anyone done the full conversion from SE to BTL?
- How much difference does it make is the oscillators are out of sync?
