Don't think but read the datasheet.

The pin is only molded into the bottom plastic frame, it isn't connected to anything. The "housing" ist the core, not a dedicated "shield".

Default foil at opmap ??

Hi doctor

as strongbow60 give me many posts before this hint -foil over the opamp..... i ask:

at the DAC post i see a foil over the TDA1541 chipBuilding the ultimate NOS DAC using TDA1541A

is this worse a try?

I do not think so. Even if there is some minor difference in the area of -100dB - you won't hear it - and you cannot measure it yet.
