Amplifier board modifications

Hello my friends!

I have been learning about this whole diyaudio thing as fast as I can over the past year. I am now at point where I would like to learn how to rate, implement, and modify amplifier boards. However, rather than ask some horribly open-ended question like: "What's the best amp board?" or "what can I mod for better sound?" I figure a few examples might be the best method.

So here are a few examples in a very wide range:
~10-25 watts

TPA3118 Hifi Digital audio power amplifier Board with Bass and treble adjustment | eBay

~50-150 watts

New TDA7498E 2x160W Dual Channel Audio Mono Stereo Power Digital Amplifier Board | eBay

These are just a few examples of boards I might be interested in using (or other versions with similar chips/different features).

What modifications would/should be done to likely enhance the quality of their output? I often read on this forum about replacing filtering capacitors, output capacitors, better inductors and resistors, etc. But I do not yet know how to positively identify particular components (which caps are which, etc). Nor do I know which specifications should be chosen for said components and why.

Above all, I wish to learn. Please have fun tossing in your explanations, opinions, grievances, and know-how. All are welcome cuz you guys are the best!

Sorry, I guess maybe I was still much too general? :p Perhaps just a single example that other rookies like myself can extrapolate from would be best.

How about the 100x2 watt Sure amp?

Immediately I see 6 65V 470uF Caps (3 on each side) that I assume are power related? After that, 5 smaller caps and 4 wrapped inductors? I imagine these components would comprise the initial modifications for a properly trained enthusiast?
