TPA3116D2 Amp

100w vs. 50w us just 3db more, so the performance "boost" is minimal. Beside that, if you use the exact same speaker paralleling gets you nothing at all as the speakers impedance I s still the same.

To get 6-10dB more power you'll need 200-500W at higher supply voltage. So you'd better go for a TPA3255 board. 200W into 4ohm needs 40V supply voltage minimum (for a BTL amplifier), 500W is already 63V supply.

I bought Iraudam7 from aliexpress.

Works good and very powerful.

you can take a look: 200W IRS2092 Amp for $20

Now I am looking for a 6 channel IRS2092 amp.

I got this board for cheap:

Thanks!
I really like this board, the tpa3116 has a good reputation and the layout has a minimum number of components to get in the way of the signal.

Unfortunatly the power rating is 100watts x 2 peak, 50 watts rms x2 which is probably too low for me. Can you explain the paralleling two channels into one chip that you mntioned, how can that be done.

Hi goodguys

the tpa3116 can be "set" to PBTL = mono--> so this is what you want to know? therefore the tpa3116 can deliver more current for lower impedance speakers....
if you look at the datasheet and to other threads you will read that the tpa3116 work mostly with less gain for home use = better SQ and a lot of variation are available.

The TPA3255 looks very nice. How do you think it compares in sound quality terms with IRS2092 based board such as these on ebay: 173099838238 283488599423
Also what do you think of this 273501940241

The IRS2092 based amps are split-supply so you need positive/negative supply voltage while the TPA32XX is single supply. I never heard an IRS2092 based amp so i can't tell anything about the sound.

The TPA3255 board shown (273501940241) does feature an LM2575S-12 for the analog frontend. This isn't the HV (high voltage) version, so the boards maximum supply voltage must not exceed 40V (+10% margin), for higher voltages, this IC must get changed for a HV version.

Hello goodguys,

I have several TPA3116, also a TPA3251 and an IRS2092 from Sure, 2 X250w (and the T-Amp 2X400w Gremlin).

The most musical for my taste is the TPA3251 or 55 (after that is the Gremlin). While the IRS2092-based amplifiers, are perfect in the bass (that's what I do with 10 '' SB29 Accoustic woofer), while in the midrange, the sound is very accurate but lacks heat, rather cold.

So do you think this board is not a good implementation of the TPA3255, can you please recommend a better one.

Hi

these chines TPA3255 is a good implementation but for that power what the tpa3255 could the design is not good. the original TI boards or the 3e board might be better if you want to push more power out of your amp.
i did some test and its stable but the small heatsink doesn´t allow the max power. if you compare the heatsink between the chines board and the 3e board...

these 45Euro board are not bad- the journey starts here....read if you are interested..i use a LRS350-36V power supply...

Sure but the drop is current depended. Those 40V regulators might work but aren't specified for this voltage. So to be safe, avoid running the board at voltages higher than 40V or change the regulator for a -HV version.

(In the end, the -HV versions are 40V versions as well which showed better specs on initial testing, like "Grade A++", all other are "downrated" to 40V then. Much like they do on preocessors as well)

Wondom /Sure boards look better than most amp boards from eBay, Alibaba, Bangood or what ever.
To expect them to sound better, just because of the fancy black color is optimistic.
In my oppinion even very over optimistic. They have understood some ideas of marketing at Sure´s, but not too much of electronics.
Some of their products make you scratch your head like "why did/ didn´t they do it like that?"
Some country´s have an audiphile culture, some not. Mix that with extreme capitalistic greed and there we are.

Sorry to mention, this thread is about TPA3116d2 versions. Maybe it would be an advantage to keep it this way and discuss other chips in their corresponding treads?
