Hi! I just twisted the polarities from my batteri to power my t-amp, I was stressed! I saw a resistor burn but didn't notice anything else burn and die on the pcb. Do anyone know if this is all that happends if the polarity from the powersupply are twisted for about 2 seconds, and is it fixable by just replacing the resistor?

I guess it would be fairly easy to check if only the resistor is damaged by replacing it.

Does the amp have any diode protecting the power input to the Tripath chip? If it does have a protection diode the chip should not be damaged. However, I suspect the tripath chip can be easily damaged by wrong polarity.

Replace the resistor and you will find out.

/Peter
