Specs of the muse edition. Would that be okay for a ipod device?

2024 = 15w and 2020 = 20w

So 2020 must be better?
Meaning Muse is a worse option than Lepai.

No, you can't say that. Output is the same and only depend on supply voltage. The 2020/2021/2024 are actually exactly the same chip. Only the housing is different. The 2021/2024 being SMD parts, and the 2020 being hole mount.

The end quality will depend on board layout and component quality though. The 2020 does have a larger cooling plate than the other two so it will be able to output larger currents, ie. be able to draw lower impedances.

What would you recommend to be used with 2x carbatteries (60AH)?

A T2020 or T2024 amp, if we are just building it like a boombox with P.Audio P10W (2 of them) and nothing else?

I will always prefer the 2020 as it's in my opinion a more robust chip housing, and therefore better for this use.

Oh, and 2 car batteries? I will run over 200 hours in a row at max volume on just one when you're using them on 8 ohms drivers.

I¨ll order one of theese then: NEW CLASS Amp SA-36 TA2020 Amplifier Tripath Chip | eBay UK Unless you have a reason that I shouldnt :p

About the battery, ill be using the P.Audio P10W (2 pieces) that you suggested, are they 8 ohm?

Yes, they're 8 ohm. In the Boominator where 2 in used paralleled per side they're 4 ohm.

So as you can check from the above equation:

RMS (8ohms) = 12^2 / (8*2) * 90% = 8.1W
RMS (4ohms) = 12^2 / (4*2) * 84% = 15.2W (or 7.56W per driver if it's 2 8ohms drivers paralleled)

P-Audio UK explained why the SN-10MB series II is quite hard to come by.

They are apparently only built to order (BTO) and P-Audio UK should receive 4 of them in July.

Luckily that shop in Rumania have more than 4 in stock!

That's very nice to know, and really explains why the price is higher in that Romanian shop. They have it in stock, as opposed to ordering and paying for them, and then have to wait 10-12 weeks to get them.

Output Power 2 x 20W @ 4ohm, 2 x 12W @ 8ohm

So does that mean that I would only get 12W with my 8ohm speakers? I cant imagine that being loud at all?

If you use HP10w which has a sensitivity at 96db 1w/1m, you'll be able to play at around 105-107db if that makes any sense to you.. It won't be super loud, but you'll be surprised how much louder and better sounding it will be than e.g a Boomblaster..
