heat sink size...for now this looks pretty close!
Well, the 'plywood prototype' is up and running for LM3886 power at least. here is a quick pic of the larger heat sink that is basically working. have to keep remembering the headroom difference between guitar and hi-fi!
Should be playing guitar through it pretty soon...need to do some 'pre-amp' type stuff, especially soft peak compression/limiting!
the small heat sink got to 80 degC at less than 5W output; the big one looks about 70 degC at full 20W plus. Sine wave input and 8ohm resistor load!
can't wait!
