Chip Amp Photo Gallery

Well that's just mean!

I want to see how you managed to stuff a useful amp into that tiny little box.

It must have been quite a feat.

Haha yeah it took some work... Everything fits well but it's just a box turned up side down with the parts attached to the lid. It was hell to solder and fix all wires. But I hear some ripple-noise , so I'll pop it open and cram some big caps in there and see if it gets better. I promise to take photos.

Made a 3U 'studio rack' for my 3-channel LM3886 & 2.1 active crossover. First time using a track saw, first woodworking project in years. Didn't come out perfect & there are certainly things I would do differently next time, but it's all a learning process!

Hello LE,

Lovely ply you used there very well done indeed. May I ask where you obtained the wood I had no idea such stuff was still available.

Cheers - J

hi,

i just managed finishing my first prototype of an lm3886 amp. everything is a little bit tight in there. i needed the small footprint because there will be 6 of them. there are 2 floors, the 120 VA 21V transformer is on the bottom and the rest is on top of it. cooling seems to be enough with cpu coolers i had as leftovers. maybe the other amps will get the same.

i noticed some slight hiss, i guess the reason might be input impedance or biasing. i'm not exactly sure about it, maybe i'll test it a little bit more.
otherewise i'm pretty satisfied with the outcome.
