STK modules...

If you can find them the STK power modules are easy to use and offer a braod range of outputs. ie STK4040xi, 100w/4ohms, upto STK4050v : 200w/8ohms. I don't think they incorporate a lot of protection in the module so are probably not the most robust of amps, but if you are encapsulating everything in a sub it should be perfect. My velodyne servo12's use stk4040v, 70w/8ohm, so I know these work pretty well in a sub.

I came accross these while out surfing the web and the compnay seams to have a few new interesting products - I wonder if they offer "samples"...

I'm also wondering if anyone here has played with these chips in a DIY design, I'd be interested to see/hear how it worked out.

Keep dreaming! They don't provide samples.

Did you look for threads on the DIY Forum over Tripath? There should be a few.
