are you going to use a right-angle screwdriver to attach the '338 to it's heatsink?

out of question,it needs rational assemble sequence

here are four method:

1,Install 338 first,and then weld big cap.

2,Use press board fix 338.

3,Screw from the back of 338.

4,Use the special tool and screw,such as six angle screws and Model L spanner.

I think it can supply all standard LM3875/3886 IGC or NIGC.

Yes,I use protel to draw PCB layout.
and I use EWB512 to draw schematics,it is simple and has circuit simulation function.After you create a circuit schematic and turn on the power or click the simulate button, the solution of the circuit and generation of the data you see on instruments such as the oscilloscope is the role of the simulator.it is so cool.

samsagaz,I recommend you use expresspcb to begin your learning.Because it is free,simple and still keep strong function.it is including a couple of soft,one for PCBlayout one for sch drawing.

Yes,Electronics WorkBench ver5.12 .the new is multisim7.this software as good as OrCAD.

I have not gotten the boards yet.

I make it a point NOT to worry about small matters so I don't build up undue expectations.

When they arrive I will build them. Until then work, family and friends keep me MORE than busy.

Generally, simulations will only bring you so far. Normally you have a fair chance to get things to work, if they work in the simulator. If they don't work in there, you are pretty certain they won't work in reality either.
Also, choosing a representative component model brings you closer to the real thing. Then again, the models are, by definition, idealized representatives of the actual component (with all the production variations that brings!), so it's not an exact science.
