You must have used single supply TDA2003, designed for car battery voltages (12.6 to 14.4V); these use higher +/-14V rails or +28 single rail

TDA2050 uses up to +/-22V but is no longer available.

in the ebay LM1875 thread we tried this chip and it worked great!
maximum is +/- 25V...i use a 15VAC- 0- 15VAC transformer and get about 21V. this gives me 37WAtt at 4R
