It is an abomination, Darlingtons make it worse.

Perhaps I didn't explain myself very well ....

This will be more stable as it will somewhat dampen the transistor's reaction to changes in temperature.

I do not agree. The resistors are better where Rod Elliott puts them. He knows what he is doing and he explains it.
About bias stability of a CFP, the important thing is what goes on at the driver transistors and the base spreader.
Whith the 1 ohm resistors as put by RE, an increase of the quiescent current induces a voltage spread of the driver's emitters, that lowers their current to the output transistors, hence decreases the quiescent current.
Those resistors do give immediate stabilization of the quiescent current.
With the resistors where you want to put them, there is some stabilization, but that is no way as effective.
