The Neutrik XLR connectors have gold pins. Mouser carries them.
If you want the shell to be gold plated (why??), I'm sure Cardas will be happy to deliver.In fact, I bet the connectors Anand used came from Cardas - just as the output terminals.

yeah that makes sense. for some reason i thought maybe they are mass produced, but like you said, there is no good reason for it. I was initially looking for them because I saw them on a particualar signature version of my power amp and i wanted to make my DIY amp look like that.
