chipamp suggestion for 3w 4ohm

Hey there guys im having a tough time building an amplifier for my 3w 4ohm speakers. I previously used tda2050 and it didn't work maybe a fake ic. i want build my amp with a suitable chip. Im okay with class d and class ab.

I'll bet an ebay tda7297, or a ta8250 pre-made board would work.
Don't let the 15w ratings scare you, would work fine with a 1 or 2 amp power supply and those speakers.

The DS for that chip is full of contradictions, doesn't engender confidence that the designers knew what they were doing.

Just a couple of examples - the absolute max supply is 38V but when shown as two separate supply voltages, the max is +/-12V. The abs max junction temp is shown as 70oC but the highest recommended ambient operating temp is 75oC.

The OP is probably long gone, but look at the LA4425A. It 5 watts but at 12.6 volts you will actually only get about 3 clean watts into 4 ohm loads. Very simple low part count fixed gain IC. Works good in the post TDA2003 era aside from having a bit too much gain.
