Hi all,
I'm about to build an LM 3886 stereo amp using the chipamp.com amp and power supply boards. (I got a good deal on ebay) I'd like to have some kind of speaker protection for my old 8 ohm KLH Model 17s. I've read about speaker protection circuits, large caps in series w/ the output (do they need to be non-polarized?), fuses on the power supply rails. How about fuses on the outputs themselves, or circuit breakers? What value and would that be fast enough?
I would value simplicity over ultimate protection. These speakers aren't that rare, etc.
