Hi

I've never made an amp before but i do know how to solder etc (I used to repair live gigging equipment and studio stuff)

I'd like to make an amplifier for playing vinyls through - no speakers yet - and I think a kit with all the components would be the best way to go so i've been looking at some kits but I'm a bit lost so i thought i'd come and seek your knowledgable advice

what'd be ideal would be a "complete" (pre-amp and power) 60w-ish amp kit that has a T-amp board with components, input selectors (tuner, phono etc), volume , low and hi EQ etc and the power supply all in the same package - in fact, everything i need except the box

where could i find a kit like this ?

I've been looking on sites like 41hz.com and www.chipamp.com but the kits don't have all the things I'm looking for and the power supplies are often separate from the amp kits

thanks for any advice you can give me on this

Unfortunately, I doubt you will find all of these requirements in one kit. However, this is all available separately, it is just a matter of wiring them together internally. Brian Bell's kits at http://www.chipamp.com./ make a good power amp. Rodd Elliot's site, http://sound.westhost.com/ , is a great source for the other parts (the pre amp and phono amp, and there power supplies). He also sell PCBs for many of the projects on his site.
