p1000x2 no output

i see now if i go gate to gate i should get a reading around 20.4 ohms as the gate resistors are 10.2 each. will check in morning and will double check readings on the outputs.

I checked resistance from gate to gate.
Q1,2,5,6 20.2 ohms
Q3,4,7,8 20.2 ohms
Q9,10,13,14 20.2 ohms
Q11,12,15,16 20.2ohms
I noticed about 27.5m ohms from the first three groups to the fourth so I checked all outputs again and found q12 shorted so I removed and all groups now read open to all groups.

Also re checked all source resistors and they still read .1ohm

So being that no gate or source resistors are bad can I assume that the drivers are ok?

You shouldn't assume anything. That's why you pull the defective/shorted FETs, leave the rest in the circuit, clamp all FETs and test the amp to see if it produces clean audio.

Ok should I turn the bias down first?

If you didn't get the outputs mixed up, the bias should be fine as long as the FETs are clamped.

Hey Perry, I got the amp up and running everything plays good no dc offset. There is a small barely audible hiss only on low pass. Any ideas and thank you so much for your help. Its greatly appreciated.

Could the hiss simply be normal?

Are you going to use the amp on a subwoofer?

Does lowering the gain and not having a signal source plugged in reduce the noise?

I think it may be normal. Will be on subs. Nothing affects the level of the hiss. Tried two sources and two power supplies. Does this with no input hooked up as well.
