Not a wire (although that might work), a resistor. You can solder across the resistor in the circuit.

See if the amp will produce audio but be careful, there may be DC on the speaker output.

No DC maybe less than 1/2 a volt no audio. The amp isn't drawing any current. Like its not fully power up. Draws about 40 amps on initial power up then stays at about 1.5-2.0 amps. Usually they are around 7-10 amps when idling.

Are you getting any square wave drive to the 5110 ICs?

If so, which pins?

U202 and U204 both have square waves on pins 2 and 4.

On U402, do you have a square wave on the points labeled Toggle A and Toggle B?

According to the schematic that would be pins 2 and 5.


I do not have a square wave on pins 2 and 5, but I have a square wave on pin 3.

If you have supply voltages on that IC, it could be defective.

With the exception of pins 5,7,9, and 11 there is 6 volts on every pin.

I have a thousand or so of this IC I may change it because of the 6 volts on almost every pin.

Is it hot?

I hate to tell you that it's definitively defective but it appears that it is.

I didn't measure the heat, I already removed it. Heating up my iron now for replacement. It's not a big deal to change, at least I can rule it out after replacement.

Changing the IC got rid of the supply voltage on all pins except the ones that are suppose to have the 6 volts according to the schematic. It also returned a square wave to pins 2 and 5, also 3 still has a square wave.


Still no audio and very little current draw.

All the rail switchers have 141vdc on the drains, and the audio FET's have no voltage on gate, drain, or source. I'm not sure if this is useful, thought I would mention it.

Still no signal on their output pins?

Do you have a square wave on the drains of Q11 and Q12?
