Default Nakamichi cassette

Just working on a Nakamichi TD700D, cassette wouldnt load found the loading mech had stripped gears which I replaced with a donor motor and loading gear assembly.

Cassette now goes to load - the head engagement takes three steps but it fails to engage on the last step.

If I manually assist the last step then the head engages and it works?

any help getting this going would be much appreciated.

I have some somewhere in storage but I haven't seen them in about 10 years.

Try to get the deck working. If it's in perfect condition otherwise and you're in the US, I'll look for them the next time I go into the storage building. They are about 20 years old so I don't know if the plastic has deteriorated any.

The photo of the part I have is here. Confirm that it's the right part.

Assuming someone else doesn't have the part.

Thanks Perry I think I've worked it out. The deck now loads and plays as it should. I would be interested in any spares you have as I could use them to repair my donor unit.
