Pioneer GM-D8601

Amp had a blown power supply and blown outputs .

I replaced the power supply fets and the outputs .

I get + - 15 volts on the opamps and - + 49 volts of rail .


With the gain turned all the way up I get very low output .

Any ideas on where to start looking ?

Mute circuit may be stuck on from a failed small component or the protection circuit is seeing a fault.

Do you have rail-rail oscillation on the output FETs?

Yes I get rail to rail oscillation on the outputs

Have you checked all switches and pots to make sure that none are intermittent?

Post a photo of the area including the output driver IC.

Yes I moved all pots and still same thing very low output .

Here’s is a pic of the area around the driver IC

Is there a way to test these like the ir21844s ?

Did you have another post on this amp? That photo looks familiar.

The Elektrotanya | This site helps you to save the Earth from electronic waste! site has the D9605 service manual.. The sub channel appears to be similar. There is a flow-chart that tells you some things to check for. The 500 series parts are what you want to be concerned with.

I think the IC is likely OK but I don't have a test amp that uses the IRS2092S (wrongly referred to as the IRS2902S in the pioneer SM).

If you have the tutorial, IRAUDAMP5, 7D and 9 in the semiconductor datasheets folder have basic information on this IC. If you don't have the tutorial, they are available online.
