The high side is floating. That's why you can't see a good signal. Measure it with a meter, gate to source and compare to the two banks with good signals.

What sort of scope do you have?

on the good sides i get 6v and the other banks 0.06v

Were you driving a signal into the amp when the photos were taken.

Are you still only getting a signal on the low-side FETs?

What is the DC voltage across pins:

1 and 19 (black)

10 and 12 (black)

yes i drove a 100hz sine wave

those waves appear on both high and low side

1 and 19 : from 2.1v fluctuates to 9.8v and then drops back to 2.1v

10 and 12 : same as above

How did you finally get to see the high side?

using the scope ground on source legs gave the above wave forms

Installing the jumper would have done the same but wouldn't have risked you hitting the high-side drain with the scope's ground clip. Measure the resistance between the high-side source and the low-side drain and you'll see what I mean.

As long as you got it done, that's what's important.

Hi all,

working on this amplifier again, fitted new psu fets and outputs

psu: irf3205 with 47 gate resistors

outputs: irf3415 - 78 ohm gate resistor per bank of 3 fets (originals were irf1310n)

Amp turns on but draws alot of current, doesn't not go into protect. Sin wave/audio is distorted.

is the gate resistor ok for the 3415?

What'e the DC voltage on pin 6 of the 4080?

Frequency on same pin?

Are the outputs heating up?

don't have my scope connected to check. will hook it up tomorrow

They're a little warm, I have the current limited to 2A

That is generally a 6.2v Zener. Check the markings to see what it is. If no markings, pull it and check it for leakage.

it is a 6.2v Zener, it reads as 2 diodes on the LCR tester...

i have a 6.8v Zener on hand, will that work?
