Rockford Prime R600x5

Hello,

I just got a Rockford Prime R600x5 and it wont come out of protection mode. I opened up the amp and nothing seems to be blown or missing. Was wondering were to start to troubleshoot. Thanks for the help!!

See if you can get a diagram from Rockford.

Rockford said they dont give out diagrams. I did snap a picture of the inside of the amp.

Did they stop distributing diagrams or did they say they don't distribute them until after the production for an amp (and/or amps using similar circuits) has ended?

Post a photo of the PS driver board. It may be something used in other amps.

They just said sorry but the schematic is not available to give out. What board is the PS driver board? The bottom of the main board?

I'm guessing it's the vertical board with the two green stickers on the back of it.

The 494 and the 4060 on one board may mean that the board is used for both the power supply and part of the class D drive. I don't know if I'll be able to offer any useful suggestions so I won't tell you to remove the main board to post photos of the bottom but if you do remove it, post photos of the bottom of the main board.

Measuring directly on the two speaker terminals for each channel, do you see a pulse of DC on any one channel of the amp?

So I powered up the amp and i noticed that the protection light was red and would go dimmer red then back and fourth. I measured the channel voltages:

Sub:0.10VDC
Rear Left: 13.7mVDC
Rear Right: 08.4mVDC
Front Left: 3.4VDCV
Front Right: 10.0VDC

Double-check the components in the right front channel.

I have absolutely no information on this amp. The high DC makes that channel seem like the problem channel. Check everything that you can in that channel. If someone has more experience with this amp, they should jump in and help.

So I was testing the transistors and the two transistors on the left are giving different readings then the other one. The other seem to be about the same

Pull them and re-check out of the circuit.

Most amps will power up with missing outputs. You could try powering this one up without the missing outputs (if they're defective) to see if the amp will power up normally.

If you cannot source them from a reputable distributor, I'd suggest using the FJA4213 and FJA4313. Replace both outputs in that channel.

Digikey and mouser should have them in stock.
