Any functional replacement?

In similar amps, I've used the IRFP4332 but the 4229 would likely also work. Others will likely have suggestions so wait until you order parts.

You may have to make an adjustment to R95 on the driver board if idle current it too high.

The large transistors on the driver board develop bad solder connections that are difficult to see.

Yes, check the drive board for welding inspection and replace the 90º pin bar. It had corrosion and generated bad connection. I'm going to order 4332 to see how it behaves ....

Do you think the gate resistance of 100ohm is the right value for IRFP4332?

It should work with 100 ohm resistors since there is a parallel 1N4148 diode for pulldown.

I mounted the IRFP4332 transistors. The idle consumption of the amplifier is approximately 2.5 amps. the transistors heat up a bit, but not too much.

no, the rail tension does not rise when turning off the amplifier .....

You're not looking for a rise in rail voltage, you're looking for an increase in voltage from near 0v to near rail voltage on the control pin (marked SW in some amps) of the driver board.

in this amplifier, it appears SW printed as ON, when it is working, I get a reading of 0.2v, but when I disconnect remote, it immediately rises to +78v and starts to descend .....

Look at the rail-rail oscillation on the output FETs. Does it stop immediately when remote is removed?
