Rockford Fosgate Punch 45 not HD

I am looking for a source for the output transistors for the Punch 45 MTP3055A & MTP12P05 or a cross reference to another transistor.

You can probably sub IRF540 and IRF9540. The originals are still available.
MTP3055A are N channel
MTP12P05 are P channel


IRF540 are N channel
IRF9540 are P channel


If you want to use originals use octopart to locate all distributors that carry them. Do not use the "N" version of these transistors.

If you find any spots under any of the transistors where the black coating has lifted, you will need to insert a suitable insulator to prevent the tab of the transistor from shorting to the heatsink.

This is what I found at ELECTRONIC SURPLUS. Motorola - MTP12P05 & Motorola - MTP3055EL The MTP12P05 is the same but they only had MTP3055EL instead MTP3055A will the MTP3055EL work in it place?

I use the IRF540 and IRF9540. You can get them from an authorized dealer (digikey, mouser...) and you know that you aren't buying 20 year old transistors (no photo, no date code).
