when checking op amp parts in car amps
should i all ways start with the one closest to the rca jacks?
do they seem to good bad first?
i can just desolder the pin that has 14v + going to it
then that disables that one

Can you post the schematic first?

Look at the schematic and find the op-amp that is first in the input chain and test them on down the line to see where the problem is. Depending on the op-amp but most are Vcc +/- on pins 4 and 8 and output pins are 1 and 7. If you have dc on the output pins of one or more op-amps you need to find the one that is leaky.


If you de-solder pins 4 and or 8 it will disable it.

Best way is to apply a sine wave to input and see how far through the amp it goes.

Is this hypothetical or do you have an amp with no audio and you believe an op-amp is the problem.
