This amp is PC-0695-C.1


It came in with 2 shorted outputs in the 2 series channel.


I replace all 4 in the channel, all gate resistors and source resistors tested fine.


Power up the amp it draws 40amps current. If I remove Q243 and Q246 the amp powers and idles fine but R257 gets smoking hot because of the rail dc on the output terminal.


I only have 13.50vdc on the source pad of these 2 outputs. I should see full rail voltage.


I have +31.92vdc with these 2 outputs removed on the bridging terminal of the 2 series channel.


Anybody have any ideas?

What's the resistance from the negative rail to the source pads?

18.32M ohms from all 3 legs of 1610R same reading.

Use a jumper wire to make a temporary connection to the outputs to see if that solves your problem.

Jumper from leg 2 "center" of rectifier to any of the source pads of the 2 FET's?

Yes. They should be directly connected.

This brought the current draw down to 20 amps then instantly smokes R270 because it get rail across it.


The amp idles fine once R270 blows but still had the full rail on output terminal.

If you have the tutorial, read the repairnotesp200dsm.htm page. It shows the parts that fail on the driver boards and give the part numbers for the IX boards. These amps are very complex and can have a lot of parts fail.

I only saw the 200 dsm didn't see anything for the ix amp

So since the 200ix schematic is used for the dsm driver module boards, the picture of the smd components you have board designations assigned to are the same designations as the 200ix main board?
