Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700D.1

A pic of the board, looks to be the same as the brutus BX2005D Perry helped me with.

The two 1D transistors on the driver board are the most likely suspects. Let me know if you need a photo.

Perry, wondering if you could post that photo of which two 1d transistors they are. The last hifonics I worked on I replaced them all and I dont want to replace unecessary parts.

Is it a good practice to replace them all of just the two you mentioned?

I bought the amp, "should" be an easy fix!!

The only parts that I've seen fail are the two 1D transistors in the rectangle. I've heard of other 1D and 2D transistors failing but have never seen it. I've heard of 2 instances where a TL072 has failed but have never seen one fail myself.

The brutus 1208 you just helped me on had a failed op-amp. I replaced all the transistors on that board. I also replaced the one op-amp.

Why is it that just those 2 fail, and why does that cause protection?
