saturn factory tweeters

trying to upgrade sound system. need to passively attenuate factory tweets ( a bit TOO bright). i would just unplug them, but then soundstage drops near floor..is there a resistor or something i can put inline to drop output maybe 3db or so?as i said these are factory tweets so have no specs on them...all you audio gurus out there can come up with a simple, cheap fix i'm sure..thanks in advance for your help...mike

Is there a passive crossover inline with the tweeter?

no idea, although since im using factory harness i would assume so..there is, as i remember some resistor or diode? soldered to /across the tweeter terminals (sorry, dont have units in hand at the moment)

With no specific details... Go to Radio Shack and pick up a couple of the 8 ohm 20 watt resistors and insert them in series with the tweeters.

You could use an L-pad but that's more complex and more expensive.

Yes. In series with one of the wires. It doesn't matter if it's the positive or negative wire.
