Step Up Transformers inside the turntable?

You said that the cable length after the SUT will be short. And you ask why no one does it.
If you put the SUT at the beginning of a “length” of cable run, there is a significant high impedance signal running through (remember impedance is transformed in square) 1:10 -> 1:100.
If I’m not mistaken, we always try to make the output impedance of a low voltage signal as low as possible, especially if long cable runs are needed. Probably it has sth. to do with the Input impedance in order to not have a loss of signal. As well as the requirements to the cables themselves could be different.
