Default Elliot Sound Product phono preamp

I just finished the ESP phono preamp and power supply.
It is just dangling from the shelf right now but I am very impressed with the sound quality. It makes me want to go through all my records. It really punches outside of its class.

That looks sweet. Where did you get the board and a parts list?

This is the main page Elliott Sound Products - The Audio Pages (Main Index)

If you do decide to try this, I would use a socket for the op amps, that way you can roll the op amp of your choice.

Hi Great job, however you should have mounted your Op-Amps on adapters as the 5532 is not the greatest op-amp for a phono amp, just cheap & cheerful. Many other op-amps can improve the performance for little money. cheers

I built one a while ago. I agree with you. For the money and effort it is very good.

Default It's very good

I have been using this phono stage for over 10 years. It is a very good preamp, I started with NE5532 and then BB OPA2134 op amp (even AD797). If you can, it is worth trying a few op amps to find one that fits your flavor. Well worth the effort, as with many other projects on Rod Elliott's site.
