Default Repair: Pioneer PL-530 starting

Hello all, this is my first post so I hope I have right spot. I have a pl-530 turnt le that had a few issues. I have everything figured out right now except the automatic start. The repair manual says that microswitch a is supposed to start the platter spinning and enguGe the timing motor which Sartre the sequence to ease, move then lower the stylus arm. When I hit the start button, the platter starts rotating but does not start the timing motor. Any ideas? Bad capacitor, some linkage not real right? I can send pics if needed. Thanks everyone for your help.
