Hi Ka,
What 0.01uF capacitor is that? Did you mean C2 which was 0.1uF and should be changed to 0.068uF? I do recommend changing this capacitor as it moves the LF pole up and provides more accurate LF EQ contour, if you have PEQ or DSP you can probably compensate to a significant extent. I remember it was an important change. It has been more than 3 years since I last did anything with the strain gauge pre, although I do still use it.

Hello, all, newbie here.
Perhaps I can make a contribution to this thread.
I have the Panasonic 451C cartridge with stylus plus 2 NOS styli (see pics attached).
I also have the 'step up' device that came with it, a Precision Fidelity unit. Haven't ever seen another (again, see pics attached).
I thought that kevinkr might find this info interesting and useful.
Since there is a power adapter, is it possible that this could run on DC and improve sonics?
Thanks for letting me share. Thoughts, comments and feedback appreciated!

I have a stylus question. I scored a Panasonic branded EPC-450CII from another member here. It has an original stylus on it, apparently in not bad condition.
I am still a way off building the required pre-amp.
I just bought a backup NOS stylus from Yahoo JP. This is a Technics branded stylus; its a EPS-46STQD.
I understand that the EPC-450CII takes a EPS-45STQD stylus. The stylus thats currently fitted on this cartridge is actually labelled "EPS-450QD."
The EPS-46STQD stylus that I got looks almost identical to the one fitted on my EPC-450CII - will it work? Or will the EPS-46STQD ONLY fit the EPC-460C cartridge? (as it says on the stylus box "for EPC-460C")
thanks!
