"Tuning phonograph reproduction...capacitive loading & channel balancing"

For a DIY RIAA preamp, or optimizing an existing cartridge/preamp interface, the paper "The tuning of phonograph reproduction by proper capacitive loading and channel balancing” is downloadable free at http://www.filmaker.com/papers/pap_RM-Phono%20C-load%20&%20balance.pdf . *In the Appendix, a practical (<$30) “audiophile phono stage” is presented for moving magnet/iron cartridges with instructions for modifying Electronics-Salon’s A-310 PCB* (no affiliation). The circuitry has only 6 component changes per channel, resulting in better phase and flatter measured frequency response within less than ±1⁄4dB 40~20kHz for cleaner transients and better tone color. Best of all, it sounds much better than the original. Please post any questions - and report your success.

*Available for Best Offer of $9.99 with free shipping at Stereo Phono RIAA Preamplifier Module Board Preamp MD A310 | eBay
